A Deeper Way to Heal and Connect.

Healing Circles, Therapy Intensives & Ketamine Therapy with a Therapist in Rancho Cucamonga

BOOK A CONSULTATION (909) 600-0306

YOU ARE NOT FAILING BUT YOU ARE EXHAUSTED.

You wake up wrecked, again. A good night's sleep feels like something that happens to other people, not you. You toss and turn in the dark, replaying everything you did wrong that day, cataloging every moment you fell short, and every person you let down. Including yourself.

Every morning you make a promise to yourself that today will be different, that you’ll show up differently, You’ll be there for your kids without losing your temper and finally be honest with your partner and everyone around you about what you actually need. But then something stops you. It’s the fear that if you say what is true, they will be upset and it’ll start a fight. So you do what you always do, you shut down, sweep it under the rug, focus on something else and tell yourself it’s fine.

And focusing on something else has become something of a specialty. You are good at it. You pour yourself into work because at least there you can measure your worth, see the results, feel like you are doing something right. You give and give to everyone around you until there is nothing left, and then somehow you find a way to give a little more. You over-give until it turns into resentment you don’t know what to do with. Your body starts sending signals you have learned to ignore.

Some part of you has found other escapes too - ways of feeling something different, something that temporarily fills the hollow space. You compartmentalize. You intellectualize. You find ways to not be fully present in your own life because being fully present has started to feel unbearable.

Holding it all in is exhausting. You have been abandoning yourself for so long that you’ve lost track of what you actually want.

What you feel.

Who you even are.

You have been living for everyone else for so long that the version of you underneath all of that feels like a stranger.

So you scroll.

You open your phone and disappear into other people's lives for way too long, even though you know you are only seeing the highlights.

You see the smiling photos and the happy families and you feel that ache. You long desperately to feel happiness and joy in your own life. You understand, somewhere in the back of your mind, that no one else can create that for you. But you feel lost. You do not know how you got here, and you do not know how to find your way back.

You just know that something has to change.

SOMETHING IN YOU STILL WANTS MORE

The fact that you are here means that you haven’t given up.

Underneath the exhaustion, the over-giving, the escaping, and the sweeping things under the rug, there is a part of you that still longs for something real.

You desperately want connection, joy, and a life that actually feels like yours.

You remember, even faintly, what it felt like to know what you wanted. To feel something without immediately pushing it away, and that part of you has not disappeared. It has just been waiting patiently for you to finally make space for it.

MEET YOUR THERAPIST IN RANCHO CUCAMONGA

I'm Alicia Taverner, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #50414 and the founder of Rancho Counseling, serving clients throughout California.

For over 15 years I have been helping clients who feel lost and unhappy uncover the destructive patterns that keep them stuck.

The clients I work with are often doing everything they can to hold it together on the outside while quietly falling apart on the inside. They are exhausted from over-giving, from carrying so much alone, from escaping into work or other distractions just to get through the day. They have forgotten who they are beneath all of the roles they play and all of the feelings they have learned to suppress.

I built Rancho Counseling because I believe healing does not have to be a slow, grinding process of talking about your problems in circles. Lasting change is possible. I have watched it happen for clients who came to me feeling just as lost as you might be feeling right now.

The work we do together goes deep. Most sessions include connecting with the body, Brainspotting, and interventions that take clients beneath the surface and into the parts of themselves that have been waiting for their attention. In addition to my formal trainings in trauma, Brainspotting, IFS, and somatic healing, I draw on indigenous teachings, my own lineage, and plant medicine wisdom to help clients connect with their hearts, bodies, and spirits in a way that feels grounded and real.

Clients who work with me often describe a profound sense of relief as they begin to truly understand themselves. They begin to see themselves as creative, joyful, and more alive than they have felt in years. They find their way back to a sense of hope, purpose, and direction. Not because I gave those things to them, but because the work helped them remember those qualities were always there, waiting beneath the surface.

FINDING YOUR WAY BACK: HOW WE WORK TOGETHER

There is no single right way to do this work, and there is no hierarchy of healing. What matters is finding the entry point that feels right for where you are right now, and having the freedom to go as deep as you are ready to go.

Throughout all of it, we use what comes up in your body as a doorway rather than a dead end. Many clients come in having spent years compartmentalizing, intellectualizing, and holding everything in. In our work together, often for the first time, they begin to sit with their emotions without being swallowed by them. What surprises them most is that it is not as hard or as scary as they feared. The goal throughout is for you to feel resourced, supported, and safe. This is gentle work, even when it goes deep.

Healing Circles for women

For many people, the first step is simply feeling less alone. Healing circles for women are spaces where you can begin to reconnect with yourself in community, feel witnessed, and start to loosen what you have been carrying. Some people begin here and stay here for a while. Some move into individual work or an intensive from here. Both are complete in their own way.

Weekly Individual Therapy

Weekly individual therapy in person in Rancho Cucamonga, or online from anywhere in California gives you a consistent, protected space to do your own work over time, at a pace that honors where you are. Using Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems, and somatic approaches, we go beneath the surface of what you are managing day to day and into the parts of yourself that have been waiting for your attention. This is not just talk. Most sessions involve connecting with the body, because the body holds what the mind has tried to set aside, and real healing often begins there.

Intensives for Individuals and Couples

Intensives offer a concentrated, uninterrupted space to go deeper and stay longer with what matters. Whether you come as an individual or a couple, the work is about finding your way back to who you are underneath the shapeshifting, people pleasing, and hiding.

For couples, this isn’t simply about learning to communicate or argue better. It’s about each person becoming more fully themselves, then bringing that self back into the relationship. The joy and connection you’re longing for already exists within each of you. An intensive creates the space to find your way back to it—and to one another.

Ketamine Assisted Therapy (KAP) + Psychedelic Integration

Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy and psychedelic integration therapy are available for clients who are ready to explore a different kind of doorway into healing. KAP can open new neural and emotional pathways that make previously stuck material more accessible, offered in a fully supported therapeutic setting.

I also support clients in preparation for and integration of medicine journeys that take place in other safe and legal settings. Integration is the most important part of any journey, and I hold that with the highest care, helping clients walk a path of reverence and respect with whatever medicine they choose.

FAQs

What kind of clients do you work with as a therapist in Rancho Cucamonga?

I work with individuals and couples who feel lost, exhausted, and disconnected from themselves and the people they love most. Many of my clients are high-functioning on the outside, holding down careers and families, while carrying a quiet sense that something is deeply wrong. They have often been over-giving for so long that they have lost touch with what they actually want.

If you have been looking for a therapist in Rancho Cucamonga and found yourself nodding while reading this page, you are likely exactly who I had in mind.

Do I have to have a specific diagnosis to work with you?

No. Many clients who come to Rancho Counseling do not arrive with a formal diagnosis, and that is perfectly fine. What matters is that you are ready to look honestly at what is not working and willing to do the deeper work of understanding why.

Whether you are navigating relationship struggles, burnout, unresolved trauma, or a general sense of being stuck, you do not need to have a diagnosis—or even know exactly what you need from therapy—before reaching out.

What is Brainspotting and how is it different from regular talk therapy?

Brainspotting is a brain-body therapeutic approach that uses specific eye positions as part of deeper emotional and physiological processing. Unlike traditional talk therapy, Brainspotting does not rely solely on language or cognitive insight. It gives us another way to work with emotions, body sensations, memories, and experiences that may be difficult to access through talking and analyzing alone.

I incorporate Brainspotting into my work with individuals and couples at my Rancho Cucamonga therapy practice, particularly when someone understands why they feel or react the way they do but still finds themselves repeating the same patterns.

What is Internal Family Systems (IFS)?

IFS is a therapeutic model based on the idea that the mind is made up of different parts, each with its own perspective, feelings, and role in your inner world. Some parts protect you. Some carry old pain.

IFS helps you develop a more compassionate relationship with these parts rather than fighting against them. This can help you begin to understand why certain reactions, behaviors, and relationship patterns keep showing up—and what those parts of you may actually need.

What is Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)?

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy combines ketamine treatment with therapeutic preparation, support, and integration. For appropriate clients, KAP can provide another way of accessing emotions, experiences, and perspectives that may be difficult to reach through conventional therapy alone.

It is not a standalone treatment. Preparation and integration are important parts of the process. I offer KAP through my Rancho Cucamonga practice for appropriate clients, with medical evaluation and prescribing handled in collaboration with a medical provider.

What is a therapy intensive and how is it different from weekly therapy?

An intensive is a longer, more concentrated format of therapy rather than the standard 50-minute weekly session. Intensives give us more uninterrupted time to stay with the material that matters without repeatedly stopping just as we are getting somewhere.

I offer therapy intensives in Rancho Cucamonga for both individuals and couples. They can be especially helpful for people who want a deeper period of focused work, are navigating something significant, or simply do not want to stretch the work across months or years of weekly sessions.

Do you work with couples?

Yes. Couples therapy has been an important part of my work as a therapist in Rancho Cucamonga for many years. My approach is not simply about communication scripts or learning to fight more fairly. It is about helping each partner come back to themselves so that real connection becomes possible again.

Often what looks like a relationship problem is also connected to what each person brings into the relationship—their attachment experiences, protective patterns, fears, needs, and the ways they have learned to survive disconnection. As each person begins to understand themselves differently, there is an opportunity for the relationship to shift too.

How long does therapy typically take?

This varies widely depending on the person, the depth of what they are working through, and the format they choose. Some clients experience meaningful shifts within a few months. Others choose to continue working together for a year or more.

What I can tell you is that the work we do together is not designed to keep you in therapy indefinitely. The goal is for you to develop a deeper relationship with yourself, understand your patterns differently, and build the internal resources you can continue using outside of the therapy room.

Do you offer online therapy in California?

Yes. In addition to seeing clients at my Rancho Cucamonga office, I work with clients throughout California via telehealth. This makes it possible to do deep, meaningful work without distance or scheduling making in-person therapy impractical.

Some of the approaches I use, including Brainspotting and IFS-informed work, can also be incorporated into online therapy when telehealth is clinically appropriate.

What if I am not sure therapy is right for me?

You do not need to have it figured out before reaching out. In fact, part of the consultation is determining whether the way I work is appropriate for what you are experiencing.

If you have been searching for a therapist in Rancho Cucamonga but are not sure what kind of therapy you need, we can start there. The consultation gives you an opportunity to tell me a little about what has been happening, ask questions, and get a sense of whether working together feels like the right fit. There is no obligation—just a conversation.

Do you work with other therapists?

Yes, and this work is close to my heart. Therapists are often accustomed to being the person who holds space for everyone else, which can make it difficult to recognize when they need somewhere to put down what they have been carrying themselves.

I offer individual therapy, therapy intensives, and Healing Circles for therapists. These are spaces where you do not have to be the clinician in the room. You get to be the person receiving the care.

Where is your therapy office located?

Rancho Counseling is located in Rancho Cucamonga, California, where I provide in-person individual therapy, couples therapy, Brainspotting, therapy intensives, and other experiential approaches.

For people searching for a therapist in Rancho Cucamonga, my office provides an in-person option while telehealth allows me to work with clients located throughout California.

What are your fees and do you accept insurance?

I am a private-pay provider and do not accept insurance directly. I believe decisions about your care should be made by the people in the room—not dictated by an insurance company. Using insurance also typically requires a clinical diagnosis for reimbursement, which may not always feel appropriate for the work we are doing together.

If you have a PPO plan with out-of-network benefits, I’m happy to provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, so I recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to learn more about your out-of-network benefits.

My current fees are $350 for a 50-minute session and $700 for a 100-minute session. Four-hour therapy intensives are $1,600. Two-day intensives are $4,250 and include 11 total hours of therapy, allowing us to work in a deeper, more concentrated format without the usual start-and-stop of weekly sessions.

Healing Circles are offered through a community-supported tuition model with three self-selected tuition levels. You may choose the level that best reflects your current financial capacity: $188, $157, or $113 per week, or $1,500, $1,250, or $900 when paid in full. Everyone receives the same experience and level of care regardless of the tuition level selected.

This model is designed to create more flexibility in accessing the work while also supporting the sustainability of the circle. Please visit the Healing Circles page to learn more about upcoming circles, dates, and what to expect.
