Privacy Policy

Rancho Counseling — Alicia Taverner, LMFT

Effective date: November 2, 2026

I respect your privacy. This policy explains what information this website collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. Rancho Counseling is the solo practice of Alicia Taverner, LMFT, in Rancho Cucamonga, California.

A note before you share anything

The consultation form on this site is a way to request a first conversation. It is not a secure channel for detailed health information, and it is not monitored around the clock. Please don't use it to share detailed clinical history or anything urgent. In a crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) or text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line). In an emergency, call 911.

What I collect

Information you send me. When you request a consultation through the form on this site, the form asks for your name, your contact details (email address and/or phone number), and a brief note about what you are seeking help with. If you call the office, I receive the information you share in that conversation.

Information collected automatically. This site is hosted on Squarespace. Like most websites, it uses cookies and similar tools and collects basic technical information — such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you visit — through Squarespace's analytics. Those analytics also include Google Analytics, which is connected through Squarespace. This helps me understand how the site is used and keep it working.

Email list (Flodesk). If you join my email list — including by checking the email-list option on the consultation form — your email address is imported to and kept in Flodesk, my email service.

Substack is separate. My Substack writing is an entirely separate subscription. The only way to join it is to subscribe through Substack itself — nothing from this site or the consultation form is ever added to it. Subscriptions there are handled under Substack's privacy policy, not this one.

How I use it

- To respond to your consultation request and schedule a call.

- To communicate with you about appointments you have asked about.

- To send you emails you have signed up for.

- To operate, maintain, and improve this website.

I do not sell your personal information. I do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

Who else handles it

Running this site relies on a small number of service providers:

- Squarespace — hosts this website and provides its analytics and cookies.

- Google — the consultation form is a Google Form, and scheduling uses a Google Calendar booking link. Information you submit through the form is received and stored through Google's services. Google Analytics, connected through Squarespace, also provides website usage statistics.

- Flodesk — my email list service, if you sign up for emails (including through the consultation form's email-list option).

- Substack — a completely separate subscription for my writing, which you can join only by subscribing through Substack itself.

Each of those companies handles data under its own privacy policy. Beyond these providers, I share personal information only if the law requires it.

Cookies

Squarespace places cookies on this site — some are essential for the site to function and for security, and some support analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though some features may behave differently.

Your choices

- You can ask me what consultation information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Contact me by phone at (909) 600-0306 or through the consultation form, and I will respond.

- You do not have to use the form — you are welcome to call instead.

- You can unsubscribe from my emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.

How long inquiries are kept

Consultation requests from people who do not become clients are deleted after 60 days. If we begin working together, your information becomes part of your client record, which California law and professional standards require me to retain for a set period.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
